The Home that Gets Everything Right
Modern ‘Gen Y Dad’ meets modern Quadrant design. The result is love at first sight. Eastside entrepreneur and Renton native Charles Koh visits Lakeview Crest and shares his experience on his favorite parts about the location, design and features of these new homes.
This stunning Washington Pacific Northwest Modern home by Quadrant Homes called Lakeview Crest is located in Renton, Washington. Nestled steps away from Lake Washington, the intimate community features 17 single-family residences with floor-to-ceiling windows, waterfront views, and soaring living spaces – all within close proximity to I-405 and major employers like Boeing, Microsoft, Google and Amazon HQ2 which is in the works in downtown Bellevue.
If you’re on the market for a new home, this is seriously a hot buy. I purchased my first home in Renton 8 years ago and have become a huge fan of the location. With Renton being in between Bellevue and Tukwila, you can get to Seatac airport in 15 minutes for all your family vacations and business trips, and to downtown Bellevue in 10 minutes as you’ll bypass 90% of the I-405 traffic heading into Downtown Bellevue. Lakeview Crest community is situated along Lake Washington Boulevard so it makes it super convenient to take back roads to the Landing for all your shopping and dining needs.
At Lakeview Crest, trails and parks are just steps away. From Lake Washington, local beach access at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park, Newcastle Beach Park and miles of new, multi-use trails on the Eastside Rail Corridor, the best of the outdoors is within reach. This is perfect for growing families as it’s a safe community with so much access to recreational activities. One of our favorite things to do living on the eastside is hanging out at Coulon Park, grabbing lunch at Ivars and walking around for hours along the water. If you’re a golfer, Newcastle Golf Course is only 10 minutes away. Fun fact: I played for over 20 years!
If you’re a fan of modern design, Quadrant’s new Lakeview Crest community is designed by award-winning architect, Mike Woodley, who incorporates geometric lines that make a bold statement. Perched on a hill, the 3,276 to 4,446 square feet home maintains a high level of privacy, and sweeping views of Lake Washington and a peek-a-boo view of the Bellevue skyline.
Quadrant’s homes are crafted by some of the best national architects and designers in the business who incorporate the latest home design trends and floor plans available. Every Quadrant neighborhood includes unique designs based on the location, amenities in the area, and trends at that time. I especially love the color of the home. This is no surprise for a quality builder with a 50-year track record in Puget Sound as a local builder who designs homes and neighborhoods tailored to the lives their customers want to live.
Once you step inside, you’ll be blown away by the height of the ceiling and the natural light that shines in from all angles of the home. The next thing that caught my attention is the custom-built fireplace that vents out from the top which makes it safer for wall mounted TV’s due to the ventilation design. This is perfect for our family as we love to snuggle up and have movie night with my 2.5 year old daughter and wife.
I was very impressed by Quadrant’s focus level of detail and use of best-in-class products and brands. Heating and cooling is integrated into a smart thermostat, the home is equipped with a custom wine fridge, high-end gas stove with a hot water dispenser. As someone who loves to cook and entertain friends, this kitchen is perfect to have a nice Sunday breakfast with the family overlooking gorgeous views of Lake Washington, or hosting your next summer party. The layout of the kitchen makes it easy to take advantage of the large kitchen island and walk over to the dining table or outdoor patio to enjoy and relax.
A few key features that I love about Quadrant’s homes at Lakeview Crest is the integration of glass doors throughout. This is used for the office door and the downstairs door leading into the yoga room/gym. The glass door inclusion is such a smart move for a number of reasons, 1) it brings in more light into the room, 2) it makes the room feel larger, 3) since I have a toddler, it’s really nice to have the privacy for calls, but having the transparency to see your child or guest walking to the room.
The master room comes with a giant closet that is larger than most average bedrooms. I’m sure my wife and people who love clothes will be ecstatic to see such a large space with custom built-in shelving. From custom lighting to custom wallpapers, the design elements bring out the character of the home to make it different and unique.
Quadrant’s approach to design begins with thoughtful selections, craftsmanship, and choice. With Quadrant, buyers can participate in the design process as much – or as little – as they like. In a community like Lakeview Crest, buyers may have the option to personalize their interior finishes such as flooring, tiles, and paint, or select a home already designed from top to bottom by Quadrant’s design experts. Pinterest boards come to life in Quadrant’s award-winning Design Studio – there buyers have that magical “ah-ha” moment, with hundreds of features and finishes available to create a home that fits their personality and lifestyle..
Fun fact: Within the last 5 years, Quadrant has been recognized for seven years in a row with the Guildmaster Award for exceptional customer satisfaction and was the recipient of several recent design honors including two 2016 Tribute Awards by the New Home Council and a 2016 Gold Nugget® Award by PCBC.
