Smoke detectors have been strategically placed in your home to provide early warning of fire and smoke reaching dangerous concentrations, in compliance with jurisdictional fire safety requirements. You should test the smoke detectors at least every 6 months to make sure they are operating normally.

A good way to remember to test them is when you change your clocks for daylight savings time. As an extra precaution, we urge homeowners to test their units monthly, and to make sure that dust or debris hasn’t collected inside units. Because of their importance, please read and carefully follow the manufacturer’s instructions for testing, maintenance and service.
