Proper maintenance, as well as preventative maintenance, will add to the enjoyment of your home, protect your investment, and assure the highest possible resale value when the time comes to sell your home. Often, a minor adjustment or repair done immediately avoids a more serious, time-consuming and costly repairs. The neglect of routine maintenance can void applicable limited warranty coverage on all or part of your home. Removal, modifications, or repairs made to items or areas that are still covered under warranty, that are not in accordance with Quadrant Homes’ Limited Warranty or the manufacturer’s warranties may also void your warranty. By caring for your new home carefully, you ensure you will enjoy it for many years. Just as important, the attention to maintenance by each homeowner in a community will contribute significantly to the overall desirability of the whole neighborhood. This section has been developed to give you a general introduction to the most familiar parts of your home. That, along with maintenance suggestions from the actual manufacturers themselves, gives you the basic information needed for the care and maintenance of your new Quadrant home. If there is any inconsistency between the general information set forth on the following pages and the specific instructions of the manufacturer, you should follow the manufacturer’s instructions. When you have a general understanding about the materials used in constructing your home, you will understand more about how natural fluctuations in temperature and humidity affect your home. Some items discussed apply to your home, but others do not. For example, you may or may not have hardwood flooring, ceramic tile, or a septic system, but every home has a water shut-off valve. Please disregard those items that obviously do not apply to your home. |
