Military Personnel Buying Quadrant Homes in Record Numbers

July 2009

Quadrant Homes communities continue to be favorite home-buying destinations for military personnel. Since January 2009, more than 40 percent of all Quadrant Homes sold were to military families. With locations convenient to Washington’s numerous military posts, Quadrant Homes offers new homes near Fort Lewis and other bases, and more house for less money.

Convenience is a key reason military buyers choose Quadrant Homes. Because military personnel are often stationed multiple time zones away, Quadrant Homes’ streamlined buying and construction processes take much of the fear and uncertainty out of home buying. Many military personnel serving overseas can electronically sign a purchase and sale agreement for a new Quadrant Home, and remain up to date on each stage of the construction process through Web updates. Quadrant Homes’ reliable, 54-day construction schedule also allows military families to better plan for move-in dates when they return home on leave from military assignments.

Most military homebuyers are taking advantage of the government-sponsored Veterans Administration (VA) financing, offering zero-down loans, helping to alleviate some of the cost they face when moving belongings from military-provided housing into a new home near Fort Lewis or other Northwest military bases. Quadrant, through its partners at Quadrant Home Loans, are experts in the field of VA financing and can help military buyers maneuver through the process of buying a new home in Washington state.

“The purchase of my home was nothing short of an amazing experience. I purchased a home but really found myself as a member of an outstanding community. I would recommend Quadrant as the number one choice for home buyers and carry their card to give to friends in the military when they are seeking more than just a house,” said Captain James Harwell, a soldier stationed at Fort Lewis and a Tahoma Meadow homeowner.

Quadrant Homes’ most popular communities for military buyers include:

Autumn Woods, near Spanaway and next to Fort Lewis, with only three homes remaining
Northwest Landing, in DuPont featuring houses near McChord Air Force Base and Fort Lewis
The Ridge at McCormick Woods in Port Orchard featuring homes near the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard
Stendahl Ridge in Poulsbo for homes near the Bangor Naval Submarine Base, only five homes remaining
Tahoma Meadow in Yelm, south of Fort Lewis
Skagit Highlands in Mt. Vernon, for homes near Whidbey Island Naval Air Station
“We have always been military-friendly but with current lending regulations and the availability of VA financing, we have seen more interest from military families,” said Brent Howard, director of sales for Quadrant Homes. “We also offer a simple, by-the-numbers approach that works well for the men and women serving our country abroad.”

Buyers also benefit from Quadrant’s Homebuyer Solutions program. This free service from Quadrant Homes offers personal counsel on topics such as the importance of credit scores, how to improve credit scores and the process of qualifying for a mortgage.

A complementary Credit Solutions program helps military buyers, as well as all homebuyers, monitor and understand how their credit history impacts their ability to qualify for a home loan. Participants may receive free credit checks and analyses of their individual credit profiles, including advice on how to repair poor scores, which may be a major hindrance to buying a new home in Washington. Both the Homebuyer Solutions and Credit Solutions programs are free to the public whether or not participants intend to purchase a Quadrant Home.
